Dr. Hayley Wickenheiser, Top 25 Women of Influence Award Recipient

Dr. Wickenheiser is a four-time Olympic gold medalist and Hockey Hall of Famer who has built a second career as both an NHL executive and practicing physician.

Dr. Hayley Wickenheiser is one of the most decorated athletes in Canadian history and a leader whose impact extends far beyond sport. A four-time Olympic gold medalist, she competed in six Olympic Games and won seven World Championships over a remarkable 23-year career with Canada’s National Women’s Team. A first-ballot inductee into the Hockey Hall of Fame, she is widely respected for her skill, leadership, and influence on the global game.

Following her retirement, Dr. Wickenheiser transitioned into leadership roles in professional hockey, including serving as Assistant General Manager of Player Development for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Her expertise and perspective have also been sought across multiple NHL development programs, reflecting her deep understanding of the sport at the highest level.

Alongside her work in hockey, Dr. Wickenheiser fulfilled a lifelong ambition to become a physician and now practices family and emergency medicine in the Toronto area. A Member of the Order of Canada and founder of the Canadian Tire Wickenheiser World Female Hockey Festival, she continues to champion the advancement of women in sport while contributing meaningfully to healthcare and community.
